Within the transoperative period, the nursing professional plays a significant role by collaborating directly with the multidisciplinary team during the performance of the procedure. At this stage, the professional must be trained both theoretically and technically before being in direct contact with the patient undergoing neurological endovascular therapy. The functions carried out in this period are vital for the success of the procedure, the actions of the nursing professional include knowledge of the surgical technique, as well as the environment of the room where the procedure will be performed. It also includes assessment, preparation and positioning of the patient, the management of the instruments and the equipment to be used, constant monitoring and the correct use of anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents. The importance of the actions carried out by nursing in the transoperative period is highlighted in order to ensure that the professional carries out the procedure to be carried out in an adequate, planned and well-founded manner, and with this, the interaction between the multidisciplinary team involved is improved, as well as increasing the quality of care provided to the patient undergoing endovascular therapy.
